Paint it All Black… and win!

To show our support for the All Blacks in their test against France on Saturday 15 June, the Christchurch City Council – in conjunction with the New Zealand and Canterbury Rugby Unions and Classic Hits – are coordinating a Paint It All Black week of competitions and events to help theme the city in black.

Schools Competition

You and your classroom have a great chance to win some fantastic prizes, and all you need to do is show how much you love the All Blacks by Painting it All Black!

We’re asking you and your students to show your support for the All Blacks and it’s totally up to you how you do it! Dress your classroom all black, paint pictures, write poems, dress as your favourite All Blacks – anything goes, so start thinking outside the square.

The Prize

The teacher of the winning classroom will receive:

  • A visit from some of your All Black heroes and AJ and Chloe from Classic Hits 97.7 from 11.30am on Friday 14 June. You’ll be able to ask questions, snap some photos and get their autographs!
  • A $500 sports equipment voucher for your school courtesy of the New Zealand Rugby Union.
  • A $500 electronics voucher.

The second-placed classroom will receive 40 x tickets to a Canterbury ITM Match for the ultimate class trip!

You can choose to Paint It All Black and email your photo or description at any time between the open and close dates below:

Entries open noon, Wednesday 5 June.
Entries close 1pm, Wednesday 12 June.

The competition will be judged by Classic Hits and the Christchurch City Council and the prize delivered to the winning classroom on Friday 14 June from 11.30am. The winning classroom will be notified by 9am on Thursday 13 June. Tune in to Classic Hits from 6am–9am to hear the winner announced!

Rugby Clubs Competition

Your club has a key part to play in generating excitement in the build-up to the game. On Saturday 8 June, we’re asking as many rugby clubs as possible to show their support for the All Blacks by entering the Paint it All Black Player of the Day competition.

To enter, email the below details to paintitallblack@ccc.govt.nz.

  1. The name of your rugby club.
  2. A contact telephone number.
  3. The names of your selected Player of the Day from each team (one per team and indicating whether they’re a Junior or Senior player) for games played on Saturday 8 June.

Entries close at 1pm on Wednesday 12 June. This competition is open to all age grades from rippa through to seniors.

One winning Junior Rugby Player and one winning Senior Rugby Player will win:

  • 2 x tickets to All Blacks vs. France test - Saturday 15 June
  • 2 x entries to attend the All Blacks’ private Captain’s Run on Friday 14 June

Plus, each winning Player of the Day will score a $250 sports equipment voucher for their rugby club, courtesy of the New Zealand Rugby Union.

The winner will be drawn at random and announced at 10am on Thursday 13 June. The winner will be contacted via the contact details given on entry and announced on the Paint It All Black website.
